The parts of a microscope

 





An activity to test whether Science students can label the different parts of a microscope. If you are struggling open the ‘revision notes’ below the activity.

Stage: The area of the microscope that you place the object being studied.


Objective lens: The lens of a microscope that is nearest the object being viewed.


Revolving turret: This houses a series of objective lenses. You turn it to select the lens (and the level of magnification) that you want.


Mirror: Used to reflect light up towards the objective lens.
