Reading strategies – Activity 2
This is the second game to help you provide a range of reading comprehension strategies for children learning to read. This one focuses on items in space (alien, UFO, star, rocket, etc), the body (eye, hand, foot, etc) and the garden (bee, flower, tree, etc).
Best played with an adult helping the child to focus on phonetics, the game will show six related images and a word. Simply press on the picture that matches the word. Get all six questions right to win a prize!
This first reading practice game covers vocabulary on animals, colours, houses and transport.
Don’t forget – reading counts! We will be adding more early reading games but in the meantime we recommend you take a look at the excellent Starfall website.
