Olympics Ticket Design (Functional Skills ICT)

In this lesson students will apply presentation skills in order to create a professional looking ICT-based product. This can also be used as a topical worksheet for ICT in the run up to the London Olympics.

The PowerPoint presentation for this activity (downloadable above) provides a structure for teachers to introduce this task to their class. The second slide is an important one in that it provides an exemplar to help students to understand what they should aim for. Key things they should focus on for the creation of their own tickets include changing dimensions and layout, changing backgrounds, making sections transparent, etc.

As plenaries (and home learning) for all lessons, students should be encouraged to complete the interactive assessment tasks detailed above.
