Teacher Guidance

Suggested method of delivery:

To start this lesson the teacher should draw upon the experience students had of databases at KS3 – students should have created simple database structures, added data and carried out simple searches. Students will likely need to be reminded of how to create queries and reports through demonstration (preferably by students).

Students should also be shown the presentation on sample search criteria to help them with forming accurate queries before beginning the tasks on the worksheet.

As plenaries (and home learning) for all lessons, students should be encouraged to complete the interactive assessment tasks detailed above.
