Tree diagram of independent probability – FREE game!
A Tree diagram of probability allows you to see all of the possible outcomes of an event and to calculate their probability. In a tree diagram of probability we can calculate the probability of any outcome by multiplying along the branches. If we want to know the probability of more than one outcome we need to add vertically.
In the first of two interactive tree diagrams of probability, you need to calculate the probability of each possible outcome. The activity represents the drawing of different colours of counters from a bag, but the two events are independent as the counters are returned to the bag after each selection.
Read the instructions at the start of the interactive game carefully as it will tell you exactly how many counters are in the bag each time.
