For GCSE ICT (Edexcel) students should develop a good understanding of a range of aspects of online shopping. In this activity students will learn about some of the negative experiences that customers may encounter. They will also consider how such problems could be overcome.

Teacher guidance on delivery:
In preparation for this activity you will need to ensure that you have a packet of Post-it notes. To start the lesson it is advisable to clarify the aim of the lesson (to develop knowledge of the negative customer experiences that may be encountered with online shopping) – students should be allowed to describe their own experiences of this.
In the first activity the teacher should show the video (below) to the class. Before doing so the first three slides of the presentation above need to be worked through – this will require the teacher to make sure that each student is assigned one of the six people in the video clip.
During the video the students must look out for the person they have been assigned and, on Post-it notes, explain what problems that person has encountered and what actions they took as a result. Full instructions on the second task are on the final slide of the presentation.
